BluePool framework for Mac OS X (BETA)


Wirelessly synchronize shared data among nearby Macs



BluePool is a free, open-source Mac OS X framework that enables a group of two or more nearby Macs to automatically mirror shared data over Bluetooth wireless. Host applications pass Cocoa-native NSData objects to BluePool, which synchronizes them to other local Macs running the same host app.

BluePool is intended to be used in distributed applications for multiple users in close proximity, such as local-area social networking apps, collaboration apps, or chatrooms. For an example application, see: BlueBook.

The BluePool framework can be embedded in applications that support Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or later.

Documentation is unfinished at the moment, but functional example code can be found in the BPTester app (included in the BluePool sources), as well as the BlueBook sources.

The BluePool framework is free software, distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPLv3).
